How to keep a windshield crack from Spreading

This is a hard pin to know if it really works or not.  I think the type of crack,  how long the crack has been there and where the crack is all make a difference in if it really works or not.  But the pin just states that you can fix any crack with nail polish and with that statement I have to say that no, this pin does not work.  I live in Utah, where they put a lot of sand and gravel on the road, mix that with big semis and you get a lot of cracks on your windshield.  I am already on my second windshield in 4 years, that is how often you get chips in your windshield and if you do not fix them, they turn into big huge cracks in your windshield.  I had a chip that I wanted to seal off on my own so I tried this pin and let me tell you, I now have a crack that runs the length of my windshield from that small chip.  So I have to say this pin does not work at all, it has all the hallmarks of one that would work, it is cheap, it is easy and takes hardly any time at all but it just does not work.   It is best to leave it to the pros and let them fix it for you.  Most insurance plans cover them, anyway and it only takes a minute for them to fill the chip in.

Getting rid of bugs on your car

This pin states that you can take a dryer sheet and get rid of all of the bugs off of your car.  The next time I washed the car, I got my dryer sheets out and I put this one to the test.  It got rid of the fresh bugs but not anything that had been on there for awhile. It did leave a residue so it is best to wash your car afterwards. I was actually surprised that it got rid of as many bugs that it did, it just did not get rid of them all. So if you are going to be scrubbing bugs off of your car you might as well use something that will get rid of them all, for that reason I am giving it a pins down. Next time I will use something that gets all of the bugs off.

Using WD-40 to get rid of Tar Stains on your Car

This did work but I was not a fan.  You really, really have to scrub, it gets all over your hands and it stinks to high heaven.  If you are really desperate to get those tar marks off this will work for you.  Just be sure to have a good scrubbing tool, wear gloves and be in open air so that the smell is not so bad.  If you do that, you will be happy with the results.

Bath Mat as Car Seat Protector

I saw this on Pinterest when I was looking at some of the other cleaning solutions and thought, hey, I do something similar, so I must share.  The mats you can buy in the auto parts store can cost upwards of twenty dollars.  We have four car seats in our car that leave indentions and food crumbs, from the little people in those car seats, all over the seats.  Instead I use bath towels, you can hardly see them so it does not make the car look disheveled and it works perfect.  Plus who does not have a few extra, old towels sitting around the house that they can use.  If all else fails you can buy bath mats and towels for extremely cheap at most stores.
