Writing on a Board

Ok, so maybe I have been spoiled, I have always had a cricut or some sort of machine to help me cut out the letters I wanted on a board and I have to say, good thing, because this did not work at all. It was hard to press the pen/pencil down to make the letter, it was a pain and it did not turn out without imperfections. I am guessing you have to have a really steady hand and A LOT of practice to get this one done in a way that looks nice.  It is still way easier to use stickers or a die cut machine to get the letters you want.

Multi Colored Cake

How cute is this cake?? I love it!! My eight year old was turning nine so I decided to give the color effect a try. I was vey disappointed because my cake did not turn out nearly as pretty and vibrant as this cake did no matter what I did. Other than that, it was a cute cake and a huge hit, I just wish I could have gotten the colors more vibrant.  Just be aware that your colors may not turn out this vibrant even when using the jarred gels.

Easy Cake Batter Truffles

These were so, so yummy and very addicting. I wanted to just keep eating them, so instead I made them for my Christmas treat platter that we give to all of the neighbors. They were a hit!!! They were really easy to put together and did not cost a ton, either.  YUMMY!!!

How to clean your mildew towels

Ok, I thought this was crazy when I read this.  You are supposed to add lysol to your wash of towels and it gets rid of the mildew smell that you get in your towels.  Even after I did it and it worked I still feel weird putting lysol in my washer with my towels but it makes sense.  This was awesome, I had tried other pins to no avail and this  one totally worked.  You just add some lysol to your normal wash of towels and tadaa, the mildew smell is gone and stays away as well. Super easy, fast and cheap to do and completely effective.

Tomato Tortellini Soup

This soup was so good, it definitely will be a new regular in our,winter, dinner rotation.  It was really fast and easy to put together and did not take long to cook at all.  We added this with a yummy loaf of french bread and it was a great dinner and all of the kids ate it, even the pickiest, without complaint!! That is a huge win in our family!

Cleaning your Blinds

I needed to do a little spring cleaning since  I had a two week break in between semesters so I decided to try this as I cleaned my blinds.  You take a mixture of vinegar and water and then use a sock to clean your blinds. I find a sock quite annoying I do not feel like it gets into the crevices well and very much prefer a towel, but that is just my preference.  Other than that this solution worked great, got off all of the dirt and grime and made the blinds look nice and white again. It was fast and easy to put together and easy to use.

Snickerdoodle Cookies

These were sooooo yummy!!! These were all gone within the day,  they were that good.  My neighbor made these for us and she used butter shortening instead of the margarine that the recipe calls for.  All I have to say is YUMMY!

Getting Acrylic Paint out of Clothes

Swab a little rubbing alcohol onto your acrylic stain and TADAA!! it's gone.  I am so glad I found this, I get so much acrylic paint on my clothes, I am not the cleanest painter out there.  Now I have clothes that are renewed and not ruined anymore and it cannot get much easier than this and cheap, too.

Easiest way to hang a picture.

Why, why have I never come up with this idea.  Whoever did is absolutely brilliant and I owe everything to.  I did this the last time we moved and it worked every time, it was so much easier than the level, pencil and measuring tape.

Jello Worms

You have seen these all over Pinterest, these jello worms that look just like real worms but you can eat them.  A great treat for a spooky, halloween party.  I have to say this test did work but I had to try it three times before I got it to work just right.  You really have to have those straws really tight together and leave no extra space in the jar because that will just fill up with jello.  Also, when it says to use warm water to get the worms out of the straws be very careful because to much warm water makes them melt. This is very time consuming and will take you quite awhile to get all of those worms out of their straws. Once they were out I could not eat them, they look to much like real worms but my kids thought they were great so they tried them and they loved them.  So they pass on taste as well.  I will never make them again just because it took so many tries and it was very time consuming but if you are feeling really ambitious I say go for it.

Shortbread Bites

I love, love, love shortbread so I was so excited to see these.  I was not fond of these and their taste at all. They were easy enough but I did not think they turned out well at all. Off to the next shortbread recipe.

Paula Dean Meatloaf

This meatloaf was really yummy, although, I did not find it much different than normal meatloaf.  I guess meatloaf is meatloaf.  That being said this was just as good as any meatloaf we have had.  I double the sauce because we like a lot of sauce.  This didn't take long and was pretty cheap to make.

Dipped Graham Crackers

I love when someone comes up with such a cute, versatile and good idea.  These are so fun and SO easy to make.  You could make so many different colors to match any occasion you are having and they look so cute.  They are so easy to dip and they even taste yummy and you cannot get a much cheaper snack.   Thank you to the brilliant person for the awesome idea.

Glue Ornaments

I love this idea and these were so fun to make.  They turn out so cool and almost see through.  When I did them I thought how cool they would look as snowflakes.  This is a fun activity for kids and adults.  Just make sure you use ALOT of glue and make them thick or they are really thin and see through, which still looks cool but not like these in the picture.  Since you can get a bottle of glue for about 50 cents you cannot get a much cheaper activity.

Christmas Trash

I have seen a couple of different recipes on Pinterest called Christmas trash but this is the one I tried out. This was YUMMY and I am embarrassed to admit that we ate it within one afternoon.  My only recommendation is to not use peanut m&m's, that's what I used and I think it would be so much better with plain m&m's.  Other than that this was cheap,easy, fast and yummy, I definitely am going to give this out with Holiday treats.

Flat Iron Curls

How smart people are, seriously? I would have never, ever thought of doing this but it TOTALLY works and it was so fast and easy.  This cuts down on all your hair appliances and makes it so fast to curl your hair.

DIY spray glue

When I first looked at the recipe, my first thought was that this was not much different than mod podge but I thought I would try it out.  Guess what, it is just like mod podge! It is nowhere as sticky and strong as normal spray glue and makes everything really wet, which spray glue does not do.  I did not like this for spray glue but it certainly could be used as mod podge instead.

Braided Flat Iron Curls

Since the last flat iron curls worked so well, I was counting on these to work really well also.  They did not, my hair was not curly at all.  I have to say I do have thick hair and not a lot works on my hair but my hair will usually curl pretty easy and this did not even give me any curl at all.

Kool Aid Taffy

This pin is a recipe for kool aid taffy and this recipe did not turn out. My taffy never hardened and stayed a jello consistency for hours. You were only supposed to let it sit for 20 minutes but even after a few hours it still was like jello and never hardened into taffy. It did not take too long to make and it tasted good so it is to bad it never turned out.

Boyfriend Cookies

These were yummy but it is no wonder with m&m's, reeses pieces, chocolate chips and white chocolate chips. They were easy to make and did not take any more time than normal chocolate chip cookies, the cost was low also. This is a great cookie to add to your cookie list.

Smores Cookies

These looked so yummy and I have found the most amazing recipe for smores bars from Six Sisters so I was hoping this would be another great recipe.  Boy was I wrong, these did not turn out at all.  They were easy to make and did not take that much time but because they did not turn out none of that mattered.

Homemade York Peppermint Patties

This gives you a recipe for making your own peppermint patties.  These turned out really yummy and tasted a lot like peppermint patties.  They were easy to put together and had a very small list of ingredients, which in turn, makes it cheap to make.  These would be fun to put on a holiday plate or for a party.

LARGE BUBBLES

This pin worked to a certain degree.  That is it made bubbles but nothing as large and bouncy as these bubbles.  They say that they can bounce and not pop and I did not have that happen with mine either.  It was a bubble solution that made medium size bubbles but it did not make large bubbles.

Crock Pot Chicken and Gravy

YUM!!! This is a homey, warm, winter or anytime meal.  This was so good and great for when you just want a good, filling, home cooked meal.  It was easy to make and was cheap and did not take that much time.  You use your crock pot which is always a plus for me.  The thing that takes the longest is the mashed potatoes.  You can use noodles or rice but I am not sure how that would taste with the chicken and gravy. Overall, a really yummy meal to add to your list.

Chocolate covered strawberries

This pin did not work out either.  I ended up with a strawberry and a cube of chocolate.  They were easy enough to put together but such a waste of time and chocolate since they did not turn out at all. Overall, this was a pin that did not work at all and I would not try again.

Cleaning your Dryer Lint Trap

This pin gives you a way to clean out your dryer lint trap.  I have to say that while this did not take that much time and was easy to do, I did not notice any difference in how well or fast my clothes dried and really, unless, your dryer lint trap is really, really, unusually dirty, I am not sure I see the point in this chore.  To me it just adds one more unnecessary chore to your list.

Crepes and Cream

French Manicure

This pin gives you a different way of painting your nails with french tips.  Basically you paint your nails and then take a paint brush with nail polish remover on it and take away any excess, leaving just the tip.  This actually worked pretty well, was cheap and easy and barley takes any time at all.
