Recently our state passed a law banning certain substances in our dishwasher detergent and I will say that it was the substances that made the dishes look bright, shiny and clean. We had a guy come and repair our dishwasher because with out the substances it also leads to backup in your dishwasher and he recommended an add in that you buy at the store and it is quite expensive, so I tried it and it did not do much more for the dishes. I had heard all about the lemonade in your dishwasher so I tried it and my dishes are beautiful and clean again. Although I do not replace my detergent I put my detergent in the dispenser and then put a scoop of lemonade in the bottom of the dishwasher. I have heard that you can only use the Kool-aid brand but that can get kind of spendy so first I tried Walmart's generic brand and then I went to Costco and bought a huge thing of Country Time lemonade and it works perfect, so I do not think it matters that kind of lemonade you use as long as it is lemonade.

Any powder with citric acid will work fine; Tang, lemonade, whatever. Get whatever is cheap or the scent you like best.
