DIY Metal Letters

I love this method and love how it makes them look just like metal.  It opens so many options to make metal letters, small to large. The letters are usually pretty cheap and the paint is not that spendy and will cover a lot of letters with one can.

Drying your Nails

This solution works, it dries your nails faster and lets you move on to something else a lot sooner.  Stick your hands in cold water and that is it, how easy is that.  I do it all of the time now when I paint my nails.

DIY Playdough

As you can see in my pictures below this play dough did not turn out at all.  It was sticky and not like play dough at all.  It was easy to make and it smelled good but it did not turn out at all.  I just threw it away and I didn't let the kids play with it because it was not something they could even play with.

Coloring Skewers

I always sit and paint my skewers or color them so that they match what I am using them for.   For some reason my brain thought you soaked them in a cup, but, someone pointed out, that they actually laid them down in a pan and let them soak.  That method works awesome!  I love this and definitely will do this again.

DIY Fabric Softener

I made this DIY Fabric Softener and although it smelled really good, it did not work.  When I used it in the wash I did not notice anything, it was just as if I had not used fabric softener.  It did not soften the clothes at all and it did not make them smell any better at all.  It was cheap and easy to make so it was too bad that it did not work at all.

Solution for not having the right size batteries

I have to admit I did not think this one was going to work and if it did that it would not be safe but I have to say this worked AMAZING and will help me so much in the future when the kids need a toy to have batteries that is the size I do not have.  I tried it with DVD remote and as you can see the DVD player was off and then I did this too the batteries and the DVD player turned on with the remote! Easy, Cheap and really works.  I have had the remote this way for about two weeks and it is still working just fine. Thank you to the person who figured this out!!!

DIY Mod Podge

This one is all over Pinterest as "an amazing mod podge" so I wanted to try it out.  I went to the original source and the author made a note next to it stating that she was not sure how this got posted all over Pinterest as mod podge because it is actually a glue and would not work as a mod podge so I did not want to make it and use it for that purpose.

Toothpaste drops

I was really hoping these would work because I thought how great would these be to have in the car or in my purse so when the kids forgot to brush their teeth I could just hand them one of theses.  For camping like it suggests it would be easier to just bring your toothpaste.  I made my drops and then let them sit twice as long as suggested and mine never hardened.  They stayed sticky and like toothpaste.  So I was a little disappointed but I am sure at some point the kids will remember to always brush their teeth, maybe when they are 20??

Using a Straw for CIrcles on your Nails

I tried this three different times and none of the times did it work.  As you can see in my picture my nails turned out nothing like the picture above and did not work at all.

Using a bottle to drizzle chocolate

This is a brilliant idea and, for me, made it so easy to drizzle the chocolate onto the strawberries but of course would work for any drizzling.  The bottle was about 1 dollar for two bottles and can be used over and over again.  I like this so much better than a ziploc bag.  Easy and cheap and works great.

Edible Glitter

This did not work, the colors were off and the salt stuck together instead of making fine glitter. I am not sure how she got such pretty colors and for it to look so much like glitter.

Getting your Toenails White

I have been painting my nails ALOT since I have been testing so many pins so my toe nails were not the best color so I wanted to try this to see if it worked or not.  It is hard to tell in the pictures but this worked really well.  I loved looking at my nice, clean, white toes.  This was easy, cheap, fast and really worked.

Cleaning your Cookie Sheet

My cookie sheet was not as worn as this one but this one worked really well on my cookie sheets as well.  It is an easy, fast and good solution for when your cookie sheets start turning different colors.

Chalkboard in your Pantry

I love this idea but sometimes, like us, you are renting and cannot do something permanant like chalkboard paint.  I found some chalkboard contact paper on Amazon for 7 dollars for the roll.  So I ordered that, cut it to size and put it inside my cupboard.  I use it to put all kinds of information on.  I love having it and the best part if I get tired of it or we move, I can just peel it right off.

Sticky Bobby Pins

I can never keep bobby pins in my hair, they always fall out and lose their place so when I saw this I thought maybe this may be my solution.  I sprayed the bobby pins with hairspray, I sprayed them still on the cardboard they come on, to make it easier.  These really work, they stay in place and do not fall out and they do not feel sticky either.  Love this idea!!

Carpet Cleaner

I found this carpet cleaner on Pinterest and I have to say it works really well.  I was able to get old stains out of the carpet and it does not smell like a lot of store bought cleaners.  It was cheap, fast and easy to put together.  I did not use the baking soda since they were old stains but it still worked just as well.

Directions- 1. Scrape up the liquid
2. Sprinkle baking soda or cornstarch on stain to let absorb for 10 minutes and then vacuum.
3. Mix one tablespoon clear dishwashing liquid and one tablespoon white vinegar with two cups of warm water.
4. Using a white cloth (I strongly believe in microfiber washcloths), sponge the stain with the detergent/vinegar solution and blot until all the liquid is absorbed.
5. Sponge off with cold water and blot dry.

Sponge Water Bombs

These are so fun but let me warn you they will probably only last one or two times.  This should be used with littler kids because the older ones can throw these hard enough that they hurt.  All you do is get a sponge, cut it up into thirds and then tie wire or something to secure it around the center.  Once they are formed you put them in water and then let the kids throw them and play with them until their little hearts are content.  They will not last long, depending on the abuse they receive,  but they are not expensive to put together.  You can get packs of sponges at the dollar store and you probably have something laying around that you can use to secure it. So make a few and have a blast!!

Magical Drinks

How fun are these?? These would be so fun for a party, especially a magic party.  My kids thought these were so cool, they really look magical.  All you do is take some cups, put some drops of food coloring in the bottom and then cover it with ice, then put a clear drink in and as you pour the drink in, it mixes with the food coloring and magically the drink changes that color.  Fun, cute and easy idea.

Caviar Nails

Another nail polish pin,  I love these and I am so disappointed that I do not like how they turned out and you really need to be very good to accomplish most of them.  I thought this one seemed pretty easy and one that I could accomplish. Maybe I got the wrong size beads but these were the smallest Michael's had and I have to say there is no way I could get these to stay on my nails for very long. I would be finding red beads everywhere! Oh well, I guess for now I will stick to easy things for my nails.
