Renewing you Markers

I tried this method out and it did not make any differences it actually made the markers worse than they were before I tried this.  Too bad it did not work because my kids always leave tops off of markers and then they do not work anymore.  Excuse the picture, I did have them standing straight up like the picture but I forgot to get the picture then.

  1. Another suggestion for renewing your markers that I have used in the past, is to take the back end off (yes, it comes off, it's just a little hard to get them off, so it may not be worth the trouble) and then drip a little water in that end. You could use a small medicine syringe (not the needle kind) and drip it in or just turn the faucet on very low to a drip/trickle. You only need a few drips. Turn the marker tip down for a little while. It helps the colored ink to become wet and sink to the tip again.

  2. If I recall correctly, the top picture is originally about using old markers to create finger paints. Hence the color leaving the marker into the jar. Whoever took that picture and made up a pin about it saving markers fooled you well. The pin I saw originally mentioned wrapping the markers together and leaving them in the jars until the color left them and then you had a base for finger paint.
